Award season is in full swing. Oscars and our very own South African Television and Film Awards (SATFA) here how does one dress for them?

Here are tips to dress for award show:
From choosing a suit (tux), tie to shoe, is not an easy task, even if you have help of stylist or magazine reference. NB: Award show are black tie event.

1. Tuxedo
Choosing a tux depend on your body type. If you have a slim frame or toned build body, pick a tux with shawl-collared lapel or wide lapel for those with bigger frame or if you are unsure about body type.

Black is a classic colour and bring that old Hollywood classic glamour. You can never go wrong with black.

2. Tie
After choosing a tailored tux, time you choose a tie. Bow-tie is a classic, yet sophisticated. With Shawl collared lapel pick a small and slim bow-tie.

If you are going to go with a tie, choose a black slim skinny tie.

3. Shoe
Black formal shoe are the way to go. Italians makes the best shoe for men. Fabiani is one of my favorite shoes makers.

4. Shirt
White slim fitting shirt is a classic and clean.

Make sure you look sharp, there will be lots of cameras and you face will be on every publication or television the next day or my blog if you lucky. Remember it’s a black tie event not a dinner at grans or movie premier!
